Coastal Science & Engineering Applications
New Platform Released
As part of a major upgrade the various CoastalSEA packages have been migrated to use a new platform that is based on two toolboxes: dstoolbox and muitoolbox. The first toolbox provides tools for handling multi-dimensional data and associated meta-data. The second provides a set of classes that enables the rapid construction of bespoke user interfaces […]
ModelUI Toolbox and CoastalTools App released
ModelUI has now been migrated to a MatlabTM Toolbox and CoastalTools is an App that uses the ModelUI toolbox. This greatly simplifies the distribution and installation of these two packages. Moving forward the ModelUI toolbox will be used for all models developed at CoastalSEA. Previous versions of the models will continue to be available on […]

A new version of ASMITA is now available. This includes a number of bug fixes and the following updates: Added inlet model to allow more complex ebb-flood delta configurations to be modelled; Added option to define element specific equilibrium using tidal range rather than tidal prism; Updated Unit Testing code.
CoastalTools v1.9 released
New version of CoastalTools (version 1.9) now available. This includes the following updates: Added alternative wave breaking models. Modified handling of waves that are away from the shoreline when computing inshore waves. User Model modified to allow user to call models as external functions. Added check that date strings are valid. Added data clean-up tools […]
ModelUI v1.1 – minor updates
v1.1, Issued June 2018: Minor corrections to improve cross-platform compatibility. Fixed bugs when setting data ranges in Data GUIs and selecting data from a pop-up list. Improved plotting option selection for xyz data with no time. Scenario selection added to control of Plot tab.
CoastalTools v1.8 released
New version of CoastalTools (version 1.8) now available This includes some bug fix and minor change to the way beach volumes are calculated as detailed below: Added Simulation option to fit wave energy to observed shoreline positions and use the fit parameters to forecast shoreline position (requires the Matlab Global Optimisation Toolbox). Corrected bug in […]
Full release of ModelUI
Following completion of further testing, the first full version of ModelUI and supporting models has now been released. See ModelUI for further details and Downloads to get the software
The first version of ModelUI is now available for download.
